Music that reminds me...
In February of '98 my friends and I chartered a catamaran to sail from
Antigua to
watch the solar eclipse. With Montserrat erupting on one side, the
spectacular total eclipse happening on the other side, a whale
breached in front of the boat. We had a crusty old captain with
great stories.
I had made an "Eclipse trip" tape, with all songs relating to the
vacation. Some were obvious, some more subtle. We had "Starring
at the Sun (U2), Moon Shadow (Cat Stevens), Total Eclipse of the
Heart, Southern Cross, Aqua Lung (we did some diving), and 10
others. Every time we play the tape, it vividly brings back the
trip.
