I think the battery-charger idea is great; you are right, you're
just recycling otherwise useless items.
Have you ever considered moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan?
You'd fit right in with the penny-pinching Dutch around here!
(Being Dutch myself, I feel I can get away with an un-PC
statement like that).
