The Strangest Thing I've Eaten Is...Fish Eyes and Pigeon Feet

  1. Fish eyes: In Singapore, as the guest of honor at a company dinner, I was given the eyes of the whole fish. Plucking them out with chopsticks did me in!
  2. Pigeon feet: Dim Sum in Hong Kong. The waiters come around with these carts filled with wonderful looking stuff, and you pay by the plate. One "bun" type steamed dish was steamed dough wrapped around pigeon feet. Crunchy. Icky.

    Ah, the glamour of business travel...
