So there you are, cruising up Canada's Atlantic coast, or in the Caribbean, or just off Mexico and suddenly the captain comes on the loud speaker: "Sorry. Trip's over. We're dropping you off at the nearest port."

That's exactly what happened to passengers on four Premier Cruise line ships last week. For this week's Travelers' Aid segment, we want to talk about what happened and what you can do if your trip is suddenly canceled... or you have to suddenly cancel it yourself.

We spoke with Marilyn Stark, from Cincinnati, Ohio. Marilyn is a veteran cruiser and her trip on Premier's S.S. Rembrant was her 23rd. She told us about the ordeal.

Now, Premier did eventually pick up the tab and helped Marilyn get home, but she brings up a good point. Travel insurance is a question we get a lot around here. The policies generally cost somewhere around a tenth of your trip, and in Marilyn's case it was worth it. We decided to what Sue Shapiro had to say on this topic. Sue is the president of GIANTS, a group of over 2,000 North American travel agents. She says travel insurance can be expensive, but not as expensive as losing your entire trip. Listen in to what she has to say.
