Question of the Week

January 8, 2000

This Week: Hometown Hotspots

A while back we asked you to call in with your hometown hotspots. It turns out lots of you have some kind of hidden gem in your backyard. Rudy's hotspot? The predominantly black churches along 15th and U Street corridor here in D.C. Every Sunday the street is filled with soulful gospel music emanating from the congregations' walls. Most tourists tend to flock to monuments, but Sunday on 15th and U is just as awe-inspiring.

Next Week: Travel Friends

Tell us about the friend you made for life while traveling. It doesn't happen all that often, but every now and then strangers on the road connect. Did an embarrassing encounter in a Paris bistro earn you a lifelong confident? Or maybe you've never stopped exchanging letters with drinking buddies from your youth hostel days?

Send us an email or call 888-SAV-TRAV (888-728-8728) and tell us about lifelong friends you've made on the road.
