Previously Chewed Gum

In 1981 we took our 16-month old daughter on a trip to India. Arriving in New Delhi in the middle of the night we found our accommodations and fell into bed. We awoke to find our daughter had been busily exploring the hotel room apparently for sometime. I asked my wife what she had given our daughter to eat. She said nothing. I said then what is she chewing. She didn't know. It turns out our daughter had managed to pry off some previously chewed chewing gum from the back the headboard of our bed. After our initial shock I'm pleased to report, all three of us survived.
