Grand Canyon, Freezing?

The River freezing? It's not in Minnesota, eh. It may be "freezing" down there -- short days, no sunlight in the canyon, and always wet -- but the river itself runs from the bottom of Lake Powell, and is a constant 46 degrees year round. A few hearty private trips do make the trip in the winter season, but commercial trips are closed down. If you can make it, what a treat -- a huge, wild canyon all to yourself!
