South African Train Tour

The Blue Train
A modern luxury train running between Pretoria/Johannesberg and Cape Town. You can get on and off at different stops if you don't want to take the whole 25-hour journey. Blue Train bookings can be made in:

Departures are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The train leaves Johannesberg at 10:10 am and arrives at Cape Town at noon the next day. Northbound, it leaves Cape Town at 11 am. The train is popular and reservations are recommended.

A division of Spoornet, the company that runs South Africa's public train system. Runs restored steam trains on six-day tour from Cape Town along the coast to Oudtshoorn and back. Fifteen-day trips also offered.

Basketball Hall of Fame

Original Hall of Fame founded in 1949 by National Association of Basketball Coaches, and opened in 1968 at Springfield College (where it was invented in 1891 by James Naismith). Current building opened in 1985. To date, there have been 222 individuals and four teams enshrined in Hall of Fame through 1997's class. Of those, only 13 were women, and nine were from other countries.

The Hall of Fame is located off Interstate 91, Exit 4 in Springfield, Massachusetts at 1150 W. Columbus Ave, Springfield, MA 01105.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (in the spring and summer). Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
