Suggested reading: Lonely Planet's "Morocco - Travel Survival Kit" was good for practical stuff, and Knopf's "Morocco" was a little lean on practicality but great on background, literature and culture. Paul Bowles' books ("The Sheltering Sky," for one) deal with Morocco.
