Disappointing trips
The interview you did with "Wendy" on her disappointing trip to Smith
Island was abysmal. It started with a cutesy dig at West Virginia and
went downhill from there. It was clear the Wendy had no interest or
information about the history and culture of the people of Smith
Island and your humoring her merely contributed to the problem. The
people of Smith Island did not seek her out as a tourist and would
probably prefer that she and those like her stay far away. There is
no excuse for using your program and the power of a public radio
station to insult the people of Smith Island.
