Travel Plans: Mother-Daughter Trip

On August 18, my daughter, a high school senior, and I are leaving Portland, Oregon to spend two and a half weeks together, just the two of us. We're flying into Geneva, Switzerland and taking the special (premier) overnight train to Barcelona, Spain ($216 per person including breakfast for a private sleeper) then boarding a ferry to Mallorca for a week. (I reserved a Renault there for the whole week for only $150 through a liquidator, but my contract is with Avis, a reputable company.) Back to the mainland and up to Canet Plage, France for another week with side trips to Carcasonne, the Salvador Dali museum, the Pyrennes, and if we get adventurous, the French Riviera and Provence.

Can you think of a better way to spend some quality time before she leaves for college next year? I can't!

Karen
