Cybercafes

There is one point you did not mention to the caller who asked about his laptop Internet access in Europe.

For travelers who may need to stay in touch with friends or business associates at home, cybercafes that sell e-mail access may be an option. There are also libraries, post offices and universities that provide opportunities to e-mail for no charge. Even if you aren't online back home, you can still easily obtain a free cyber-address to send and receive mail through Yahoo or Hotmail.

You can even set-up your own Web page with all of your friends and business associates e-mail addresses and you don't even have to remember or write down their e-mail address. Just remember your web page URL and copy and paste the address into your e-mail note online.
