Anchorage to Juneau

On a recent business trip from Anchorage to Juneau when checking in to return to Anchorage I was informed my flight was canceled and the only other flights to Anchorage that day were overbooked. I said, "Can't you do any better than that?" Twenty minutes later I was on a southbound flight to Seattle via Sitka and Ketchikan to then catch a flight from Seattle to Anchorage. Fortunately, to make a long story short, they gave me first class to Seattle, then in Seattle I asked at the service counter if they could do anything better than a middle seat back to Anchorage. I was booked at a nearby hotel, and called my husband who I had not seen in nearly a month because he was working north of Seattle in a shipyard overseeing a new boat. We were able to have a rendezvous and I left for Anchorage first class the next morning. It turned out to be a very pleasant trip instead of airport frustration.
