The "Real" Hawaii

When we are in Hawaii, we like to spend time in the city of Honolulu, visiting the Tamashiro fish market, which has every kind of fish imaginable, and poke. We also like to wander around the Asian neighborhood near downtown, where the fishermen bring live fish to dump into tanks in the markets, and where you can get good Filipino food or almost any type of Asian food. I bought shrimp which were still swimming!

We avoid restaurants, buy fresh fish and stay in a place were we can grill outside every night.
