Favorite Travel Film

The film that comes to mind is "Shirley Valentine," for several reasons. It beautifully described the person who has not traveled much, but has an innate appreciation of another country and another culture. I dream of traveling to other countries, but have an otherwise terrific husband who likes his own bed and his own bathroom. He simply has no desire to see the Great Wall of China. (He says he'll see the video.)

A few years ago, I was "forced" to go to England twice. Memories of that movie inspired me to have a wonderful time all on my own. I have the hope that someday my husband will come around, and let me show him some of my favorite parts of London. In September, I am going to a meeting at Cambridge University, and just can't wait.
