Creature Comforts

It was a dark and stormy night when I drove from a client in Altoona to onein Pittsburgh last fall. I settled into my room at the Hampton Inn cold, wet, and hungry. When I've made this trip in the past, I would set off on foot to find dinner near the University of Pittsburgh campus about a half mile away.

Tonight was not a night for walking in the rain, and I didn't want to move my car from what might have been the last available spot in the hotel's lot. (The overflow lot was a couple of blocks away.)

All was not lost! On the hotel room desk was a booklet from a restaurant delivery service! I paged through it hungrily and found the menu from a Lebanese restaurant I visited on my last trip. I called, placed an order, and was eating a delicious dinner of hummus, baba ganouj, tabouli, and lentil stew about a half hour later!

To get above the $10 minimum charge, I ordered more food than I could finish. I re-wrapped what I didn't eat and put it in my car the next morning to stay cool as I headed out on foot to explore the area. The leftovers made a delicious late lunch!

I had to pay the delivery charge and tip the driver, but it was worth it not having to go out again into the cold rain!

Love you show!

Jack
