In pursuit of our passion: trains!

This spring we spent 2+ weeks in Switzerland with a bunch of like-minded people, doing what we enjoy most--riding trains. Switzerland is Heaven on Earth for train buffs, and it was described by one of the other people on the trip as a" theme park for people who love trains". Because the country is so small and the train system so well-organized, it's possible to see great stretches of the country on day trips, which is what we did. We all had SwissRail passes, so we just went down to the train station and hopped on. The Swiss run their railroads so efficiently that the schedules are printed a year at a time, and they seem to stick to them. We stayed at only three cities, Chur, Lugano, and Bern, so we had a chance to unpack our bags. Rode over 40 different trains in the two weeks, but also cable cars, ships, trolleys. And we were NEVER out of reach of coffee, chocolate, and/or cheese! It was WONDERFUL.
