Good Fall Travel: Glacier Park

I used to work in Glacier Park in Montana. After Labor Day, the park was practically deserted. The traffic is practically nil. There might be rain with snow in the mountains for a couple of days but then often it clears off and there's a month of beautiful Indian summer. The animals start to come out again and the air gets a little more crisp as the season progresses. Then about the fourth week in October a snow storm often blows in and that closes the Going-to-the-Sun Road for the season. But until that happens it's a glorious time.

The concession services in the park are closed but there are services open immediately adjacent to the park on both sides.

Ronald
