Just short of a free ride

Dear Rudy and colleagues,

I've loved your reports from Marketplace (past and present) and I especially love your show, which I hear Saturday's from 5-6pm on KUSC in Los Angeles. It's a nice mix of interesting stories, lively interactive communication with listeners and very useful information.

Yesterday I realized that I have time for about two weeks (October 27 or 28) until November 13 or 14. For reasons I'm not sure of, Turkey has been calling to me. As I hate warm weather (and I think of 72 degrees as getting pretty darn warm!) so it seems fated that this would come about like this.

This is my problem. I have frequent flyer miles on three airlines (Virgin, United, Delta) that could get me from here to there and back, but in every case they are just UNDER number needed to get a free ticket. It's too sad (well, let's say it's pretty darn sad and "not all eyes will weep for me" [Lion in Winter]) but it certainly is annoying to realize this).

What would you do?

Thank you,

Keta
