This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Lonely Planet
travel guides. To commemorate the occasion, Tony Wheeler, the
publication's founder, has written a book called Chasing Rickshaws, a
romantic look at twelve Asian countries as seen from the perspective
of the rickshaw---sort of the Asian taxi cab. Lonely Planet
photographer Richard I'Anson accompanied Tony on his journey and what
they created is a spectacular profile of the Far East and a mode of
transportation that seems almost anachronistic in this fast paced
world.
Tony Wheeler's book Lonely Planet: Chasing Rickshaws is available from Amazon.com.
