Deal of the Week: Travel By Chance (5/11/2001)

Real Audio Listen with RealAudio          help Need audio help?

Feeling lucky? Got a yen to grab a friend and get out of Dodge? Then why not enter a few on-line travel contests. You might wind up winning $25,000 in cash from Marriott for a vacation anywhere in the world. Or how about a trip to Tahiti for two worth $4,000?

The web is littered with contests like these, but you can enter a bunch of them all at one sitting at the computer if you go to honeymoons.about.com. As the name implies, this is a web site all about honeymoons. But, hey, you don't have to be a newlywed to travel - or to enter contests offering free flights, hotel rooms, and cash as prizes. So skip the keywords like "lingerie" and "sex for beginners" and click on "trip contests." You'll find a dozen or so. Some only ask you to register-like Caesar's World that wants you to sign its guest register; you may win three free nights at a Caesar's resort. Others require some effort - like Thrifty rental car's site that asks you to recount your worst honeymoon disaster.

Either way, you have nothing to lose by visiting honeymoons.about.com and clicking on "trip contests."

Travel by chance - that's my deal of the week.
