Deal Info. - Toronto, Anyone? How About Istanbul? Or, Business Class, Cheap?
Oct. 31, 2003

Since deals are popping up like flowers in the springtime, our dealmeister Rudy Maxa is back with three incredible ways to get the heck out of Dodge: the "Time for a Little Toronto" entertainment package, an amazing all-inclusive bargain in Istanbul, and some great, low Northwest Airlines Thanksgiving rates on business-class tickets.

DEAL #1: The first one is a bid by Toronto to bring tourists back to town. It's called "Time for a Little Toronto." It's a entertainment package that breaks down like this: For $260 U.S., two people get a night in a downtown Toronto luxury hotel, tickets to either "The Lion King" or "Mamma Mia," plus dinner for two at one of the city's best restaurants. Oh, and a $30 gift certificate at Roots, or a ticket to a Raptor's game.

DEAL #2: This is quite exotic: Four nights in Istanbul for $499 per person, based on two people traveling together. That price includes airfare from the East Coast via Lufthansa, four nights in a three-star hotel with breakfast, and airport transfer upon arrival in Istanbul.

This deal comes from Picasso Tours, an L.A.-based company owned by Turkish Americans that has specialized in tours to Istanbul and Greece since 1980. You can upgrade to four- and five-star hotels for $50 or $100 a night, and there are special prices from other departure cities: like $624 from L.A., San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. Travel between now and March 31st -- but buy the package by Nov. 15th.

WEB-ONLY DEAL #3: Northwest Airlines is having a sale on business-class tickets over Thanksgiving -- and the fares look about the same as coach fares during the summer! Travel from the U.S. to London, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Check out these round-trip prices in biz class:

-Boston to Amsterdam: $798
-Detroit to London: $998
-Seattle to Frankfurt: $1,198
-The Twin Cities to London: $998
You can head to Europe any time between Nov. 22 and 27, and return between Nov. 28 and Dec. 2 -- but you must buy your ticket by next Tuesday, Nov. 4. Add another $100 or so for taxes and fees.
