Rundown for the Week of August 25, 2000
The Pyramid of Giza
The Great Pyramid of Giza, outside Cairo, Egypt, is probably the most
famous tourist attraction on earth. More than 4,000 years old, this
tomb of the Pharoah Cheops is the last of the Seven Wonders of the
Ancient World. As part of our series on Cairo through the eyes of
history's tourists, The Savvy Traveler's Tom Verde takes us along on
a visit to the Great Pyramid.
Ice Cream Capital
It's August and the weather is sultry. At this time of year, nothing
tastes quite as good as a dripping cone of ice cream. In Le Mars,
Iowa, ice cream has been elevated to its well-deserved position of

museum in the self-described "Ice Cream Capital of the World."

as all of us imagine? Anne-Marie knows all about the reality of life
on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.
Season of the Bike

around and do nothing. Ever been curious about what happens on a Club
Med, swinging singles vacation?
"Anyway you can imbibe sangria, we imbibe it. We chug it, we have it
poured down our throats, we lick it off each other's stomachs. By
afternoon, I'm predicting half our numbers gone to heat stroke, the
other half to cardiac arrest"
Hear the story of a conflicted player in the Club Med experience
