Question of the Week: Odd Travel Cuisine (6/1/2001)

Real Audio Listen with RealAudio          help Need audio help?

Not everyone goes so far as actually trying on the cultures they visit, but most people at least try to ingest them. The way to a cultures heart, after all, is through the visitor's belly. Over the years we've heard an entire menu full of odd foods travelers have had placed before them and I thought it would be fun to serve up a few dishes for you.

Next Week: First Arrivals

Well, sooner or later in your travels, you'll encounter the local cuisine...but what about when you first arrive? Maybe you do get out for a quick nosh, or maybe you just toss your luggage on the bed and look around your room with a sigh of relief... or disgust. What's the first thing to do when you hit the ground in a new place? What do you do to get comfortable, to get your bearings, or just get going? Do you pour over the maps, or just take a nap? We want to know what you do when you arrive in a new place.

Call or email us and share your story. The number is 888-SAV-TRAV. That's 888-728-8728.
