Question of the Week

March 11, 2000

This Week: Worst Drivers

You know, travel by computer seems like a pretty good way to go -- especially when you consider the drivers in some countries -- a lot more dangerous than surfing the net, that's for sure. Well, I wanted to get a feel for the roads out there, so a few weeks ago I asked you to call in your nominations for the worst drivers in the world, and I have to tell you: If the number of calls I got is any indication...things are going from bad to worse.

Next Week: Favorite Travel Films

The worst driver in the world is a tough award to give out. So, let's try something a little easier. I'm sure you know, the Oscars are coming up ... so I'm going to give out my own movie awards -- call them, I don't know, "the Rudy's." I want you to call me with your nomination for the best travel films.

Now, I'm not talking about road movies. I want you to tell me about the films that inspired you to head off into the sunset. Ever since I saw Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca I've felt this undeniable pull to North Africa. I haven't made it yet, but any time I see any desert movie really, I always spend the next week dreaming of the sands. So, tell me, Did Amadeus sent you on an impulsive tour of German concert halls? What movie inspired you to travel? Where'd you end up and how'd it turn out?

Send us an email or call 888-SAV-TRAV (888-728-8728) and tell me about your favorite travel film.
