High-Tech Passport Backup

Dear Rudy,

I used to make a photocopy of my passport as a backup when I traveled. But still, I worried that if my luggage were lost or stolen, the copy would be gone, too. With my new digital camera, I've taken digital photos of my passport and emailed it to myself at an email account I can access through the web. Now, if I lose my passport, I can just find a computer (at an airport, hotel or cybercafe) and print out a color copy. This also works for credit cards and travelers checks, so I don't have to carry or remember the information necessary to get them replaced.

- Dale
