The Perils of Hitchhiking

You admit that it is dangerous, but then you go on with the cheery suggestion that people reminisce on the "good old days." Will you get replies from people who have lost a loved one to some road bum? From people who have been ripped off or raped doing this stupid, stupid thing? Maybe you'll hear from the state troopers who've had to pick up the pieces of accidents caused by highway hitchers. I really don't think it is wise to go on about this subject because no matter what disclaimers you might offer, you are still putting the idea in young people's heads that hitching is a romantic and exciting adventure: "Nothing bad will happen to me, and think of all these cool stories people are telling." I enjoy your show, but I think this topic is a bad idea.
