Exotic animal trade hurts diversity

I was very dismayed that Rudy did not discourage people from bringing back "exotic pets" on their travels or buy fur (even though he did say it was "politically incorrect"). Your show is on public radio and has many listeners. IMHO, giving these actions (i.e. buying "exotic pets" and fur) your subtle approval is very irresponsible as they lead directly to the suffering of animals.

The trade in "exotic animals" is a multi-billion trade and very often illegal, resulting in many problems associated with the demise of endangered species, upset of the ecosystem and biodiversity, and not to say the suffering and death of wild animals that are taken out of their natural habitat, transported to foreign lands, etc.
