On January 1, Steve Fossett and his crew set out on his 125 foot catamaran, PlayStation, to compete in the Race of the Millennium, aiming to break the world record to circle the globe in less than 70 days. The boat could do speeds of 45 mps-if you've never dawdled in a little boat, this is practically supersonic. Fossett is no stranger to trying to break world records. You may remember his efforts to take a balloon around. But two weeks in to this catamaran race, Steve Fossett and his crew had to pull out because of a faulty sail, among other things. We spoke with him after he turned his boat around and was heading toward Miami.
